Pacific Audiology Center
Pacific Audiology Center started back in 1980 at the Oregon State School for the Deaf. At that time Dr. Mehr was the audiologist for the Oregon State School for the Deaf. He contracted with the state to use their facilities after hours to provide audiological services to members of the Salem community. At that time there were no other audiologists in Salem and Physicians needed to send their patients to Portland for an audiological evaluation. Pacific Audiology Center performed a great service to both the Salem physicians and their patients.
This service was badly needed. It became obvious to Dr. Mehr that he needed to expand Pacific Audiology to a full time facility. In 1986, he rented space in the Oak Street Medical building down the block from Salem Hospital. He worked very closely with all the physicians including all the Ear Nose and Throat physicans (ENT) that were also located in that building. As his practice continued to grow it became appearent that he needed a larger office. In 1996 he decided to build a brand new state-of-the-art audiological facility.
