Fifteen years ago, I decided I needed a larger and more technically sophisticated facility. In partnership with my brother, Dr. Marty Mehr, we started construction of our own building. The advantage of building from scratch, is that you can design and build things exactly to your needs.

For example our large sound booth was built so that is was sunken into the building. This allows wheel chairs to go directly into the booth without a need for a ramp. Additionally, the concrete slab that was poured for the sound booth was poured onto a bed of sand, completely isolating it from the foundation or the road outside.

The walls in the room where the test booth is were also constructed specifically for audiology. All of the sound treated sheetrock was nailed to a resilient chamber so they are not in direct contact with the studs. This reduces sound transmission from the hallway into the test room.

It is all the small details like those mentioned about that makes Pacific Audiology stand out from the rest. I am very proud of the facility that we built.
