New York City was not very creative when it assigned names to its elementary schools. In fact, they did not have names, they had numbers. So I attended Kindergarten through 8th grade at Public School 64 (PS 64). I aslo attended High School in the New York City public schools but at least the high schools had names. I attended John Adams High School.
In an effort to put myself through college I attended the City University of New York in the evening and worked as a teacher's aid in a school for multi-handicapped children. Since I was going to school at night it took me seven years to get my Bachelors Degree in Education.
After obtaining my BA degree I was awarded a scholarship to obtain a Masters Degree in Teaching Deaf Children at Western University (Oregon College of Education when I attended) in Monmouth. So out to Oregon I came.
Finally, I obtained a Doctorate of Arts degree in Audiology from Adelphi University in Garden City, New York.
